Review: Erborian Skin Hero With White Ginseng – A Missed Opportunity

I recently gave Erborian’s Skin Hero a try, enticed by its bold promise of a “7 Days Transformation.” As someone who loves diving into Korean skincare products, I was eager to see what this could do for my complexion. One thing that drew me to Skin Hero was its impressive list of key ingredients. The inclusion of ginseng, known for its anti-aging and revitalizing properties, was particularly appealing. Additionally, the product contains niacinamide, which is celebrated for its ability to brighten skin and improve elasticity.

However, my excitement quickly turned into confusion and disappointment. Incorporating it into my existing skincare routine was a challenge. Should I use it before my moisturizer or instead of it? Is it a replacement for my serum, or should it complement it? These questions left me puzzled and unsure if I was maximizing its potential benefits.

I used it diligently for a full week, hoping to see the transformative results it boasted. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice any significant improvements in my skin’s texture or overall appearance. It felt more like a standard primer than a revolutionary skincare treatment.

Adding to my frustration was the product’s short shelf life. The idea of investing in a tube that only lasts for six months (and you use it only 7 days) seems impractical, especially when there are so many other skincare products out there that offer long-term benefits and more bang for your buck. It made me question the value of buying something with such a limited usage period.

I’ve had great experiences with Erborian and other Korean skincare brands, so my expectations were high. I even tried to adjust my skincare routine to make the most out of Skin Hero, but it just didn’t deliver. This left me feeling a bit let down, especially after loving Erborian BB Cream so much.

So, while I appreciate Erborian’s innovative approach and commitment to quality, the Skin Hero didn’t work for me. The lack of noticeable results, the confusion on how to incorporate it into my routine, and the impracticality of its short shelf life made it a product I wouldn’t repurchase.

It goes on very easily, it’s not very moisturising, rather it just sits on the skin so I found I was using quite a lot. It feels a bit like a primer, and it does improve the look of the skins texture, pores and skin tone but it didn’t give me the wow I was hoping for.

And one positive review as food for thought:

This is a little miracle! Just a small amount smooths my skin, evens my complexion and leaves me looking much better. I use it on the days that I do not wear make-up as it provides such a good base for my skin. I love it and will definitely buy more.
