How to Keep Your Pores Clean and Tight in Summer

One of the most common summer issues is perpetually clogged pores and oily shine, often accompanied by dehydrated skin. Here are some simple rules and routines to avoid this problem:

Exfoliation

Don’t completely eliminate exfoliation, even if you’ve stopped using retinol and acids. Make sure to keep enzymes in your routine. Use an enzyme powder at least 3 times a week instead of your cleanser.

Tip: For a deeper effect, leave it on your skin for 2-5 minutes before rinsing. You can also apply it locally, for example, just on your nose. However, enzyme powder alone won’t be enough, so let’s move on.

Sebum Regulation

In summer, it’s essential to incorporate actives that control sebum production without drying out your skin. Serums with niacinamide and zinc PCA are perfect for your daily routine. Use them daily for a 2-3 month course.

Emergency Measures

Sometimes, you need a quick effect or just want to add something extra. For my pores, for example, enzyme powder and serums alone aren’t enough in summer. But an enzyme peeling gel and a purifying clay mask can provide a salon-like effect after one application, especially if used together.

Quality Moisturization

I know that in summer, you might want to switch to a light gel or skip the cream altogether, but this often leads to dehydrated skin. As a result, your skin produces even more sebum. Heat, sun, and temperature fluctuations also damage the skin’s barrier, causing it to lose moisture even faster. Therefore, it’s crucial to moisturize your skin adequately.

Sun Protection

No extra words needed – sunscreen is essential in summer. The sun dries out the skin and damages its protective properties, which affects the condition of your pores if you’re not using sunscreen.

These rules may seem simple at first glance, but the most important thing is that if you skip one of them, the rest won’t work as well. A comprehensive approach is crucial here. By following these tips, you can maintain clean and tight pores, even during the hottest months.
