Austin City Limits 2018: Musical Diversity and Classic Performances

Over the past few years, Austin City Limits Music Festival has brought about some amazing headliners to feature and close off festival season, as fall approaches. With the city of Austin, Texas being notorious as the live music capital of the world, the city itself tends to draw in music fans from all over the world during events such as South By South West ( SXSW) and Austin City Limits Music Festival. However, with catering to the multiple demographics of music fans, ACL ‘s headliners will bring in quite the crowd this year.

Starting off Friday night will be Odesza and Paul McCartney for both weekends. Paul McCartney, a singer-songwriter, composer and also being known for being in The Beatles will be headlining one of the stages on the first day of ACL. Touring this fall internationally, McCartney makes a pit stop for both weekends of ACL, but it will also be his first-ever performance at the festival as well. Topping off the night aside from Paul McCartney’s performance will be Odesza. Odesza bringing in the lively electronic sounds that most EDM fans come to love, surely contrast Paul McCartney’s performance. However, with quite the different headliners that each night brings, it will surely bring in quite the crowds for both performances.

Ending Saturday with such huge performances this year will be Metallica and Justice. Both with very different genres of music, appealing to a much different demographic you see at most music festivals nowadays, these two bands are a must see. Justice known for their single “D.A.N.C.E” will surely draw in a crowd with their energetic vibe and disco-pop sounding songs. As for Metallica, known as being one the most influential heavy metal bands, will bring in music fans alike for their love of heavy metal and rock.

As for Sunday, the very last day of ACL, to close off the festival is Travis Scott and Arctic Monkeys. Travis Scott, being from Texas, having just dropped his album “Astroworld” and now touring this fall, he will bring in fans excited to hear his new music live. Headlining as well this night is Arctic Monkeys, releasing an album that had just dropped a few months ago called “Tranquility Base Hotel and Casino”, Arctic Monkeys are no strangers to both ACL Fest and the festival circuit. With such diversity in music genres that the headliners bring each night of ACL Fest, it will make this festival truly a memorable experience for music lovers everywhere.
