Ten Albums To Look Forward To In 2017


Last year we witnessed the release of many great albums that showed artists and bands pushing their music into new territory. Many records were diverse musically and lyrically and captured the rather tumultuous times we are living in. 2017 is upon us and there are many anticipated albums that will be coming out this year. Here are 10 albums to look forward to in 2017.

Sampha - “Process” 

The British electronic soul singer is finally releasing his debut album this year. Sampha has been featured on many high profile artists songs including, Drake, Solange, and Kanye West. 

Drake - “More Life”

Drake had a stellar 2016 with the success of his album “Views”. He also had several hits that made it to the top of the music charts and streaming platforms. For 2017, Drake is set to release a record that he has dubbed a playlist for his fans.

Charli XCX 

Charli XCX will be releasing her third studio album this year. Last year, she released an EP entitled “Vroom Vroom” which showed her venturing into eclectic music styles.

Spoon - “Hot Thoughts”

Indie rock veterans Spoon will be releasing their ninth studio album “Hot Thoughts” in March. The record is the followup to their critically acclaimed album “They Want My Soul”.


Haim’s second studio album is expected to come out this summer. The rock group released their much buzzed about debut album “Days Are Gone” in 2013.


The animated band will be releasing their new album sometime this year. The band recently released a new single entitled “Hallelujah Money” featuring Benjamin Clementine.

Arcade Fire 

The Canadian indie rock band has been at work on their fifth studio that is expected to come out this year. The band’s previous album “Reflektor” garnered many positive reviews and was nominated for a Grammy.


Last year, Bjork stated in an interview with AnOther Magazine that she was at work on her next studio album. She said that the album would be more upbeat in tone than her previous record.

Grizzly Bear 

The Brooklyn indie rock band is expected to release their follow up record to 2012’s “Shields” this year. Last October, the band tweeted that the record was 90 % done. 

Sky Ferreira - “Masochism”

In 2013, Sky Ferreira released her critically successful debut album “Night Time, My Time.” This year, she is expected to release her second album which she has described as more aggressive to Billboard.
